Cove Security App Download (Android)
With a recent update, the Cove Security app will be unavailable to download for Android users for a brief period of time. In the meantime, to download the app, click here. Please keep in mind that in order to download the app from this location you will need to allow your device to download 3rd party apps. How to enable this feature across Android devices will vary slightly but will require you to enter your device's settings. Here are directions to install the app 3rd party: Step 1: Allow Installation from Unknown Sources By default, Android does not allow installing apps from outside the Google Play Store. You need to enable this setting. Go to Settings on your Android device. Tap on Security or Privacy, depending on your device. Look for Install unknown apps or Install from Unknown Sources (the exact name may vary depending on your Android version). Select the app (e.g., browser, file manager, or email app) you plan to use to download or open the APK file. Enable "Allow from this source." Alternatively, for Android 8.0 and above, you might need to do this for individual apps rather than a global setting. Step 2: Download the APK File To download the app, click here. Step 3: Locate the APK File Once the APK is downloaded, you will need to locate it: Open the File Manager app on your device. Navigate to the Downloads folder (or wherever you saved the APK file). Step 4: Install the APK To install the APK: Tap on the APK file in your file manager. A prompt will appear asking if you want to install the app. Tap Install to begin the process. Wait for the installation to complete. Once done, you will see the option to either Open or Done. Step 5: Launch the App After installation, you can launch the app directly from the installation prompt or: Go to your App Drawer (home screen or apps menu). Cove App Routines
This article goes through all of the functions and features for routines available on the Cove App. What are Routines? Routines are rules or special functions that act in a similar matter to "If This, Then That". An example of this is, If my front door is opened, Then notify my phone that the door has been opened. How to Access the Routines The Routines can be accessed by clicking on the menu bar (3 bars at the top right of the app) and selecting Routines. What Routines Can Be Added? Notifications for when sensors for Doors or Windows Open or Close Arming/Disarming at a set time of the day. Run a Smart Home Scene (Coming Soon). How do I Create a Routine? Once you have clicked on the Routines button in the side menu, click the plus (+) icon to start the recipe for the routine. Select the "If This Happens" rule. The ones that currently function for the equipment we currently offer are "A sensor is Closed", "A sensor is Opened", and "It is a set Time or Schedule". Follow the commands on the app to complete the Recipe. For when a sensor is opened or closed it will want you to select the desired sensor to receive notifications for. For a recurring scheduled routine, you will want to select the frequency of the specific action (arming and disarming) to happen and on which days the rule shall be applied. If you see a "Run this Scene" option, that is intended for Smart Home products and will eventually offer features like changing temperatures on thermostats, locking doors, opening garage doors, etc. At this time it will not offer any features. After you've selected your preferences, the finalized routine will appear on the routines page. Forgot Password
This article details the process you should go through to reset your Cove Security app password. The screenshots provided are the same for iOS and Android devices. This is the preferred method to reset your password. Forgot Password If you have forgotten your password, you can request a new password by using the "Need Help?" link on the main login screen. After pressing "Need Help?", you will be directed to the second screen. Here you are notified that app access is available only on the Cove Plus Monitoring Plan and that the username is the primary user's phone number. If you are on the Plus Monitoring plan and need to generate a new password, select "Get temporary password". You should enter the phone number or previously set username for the account, then press "Next". If the phone number or username is correct, you should select the method for receiving their temporary password. If the phone number or username is not recognized, you will be notified and asked to try again. The temporary password is only valid for 15 minutes. Cove App - Timeout Error
This error commonly occurs when your cell phone is trying to connect to both your WIFI and your cellular data at the same time. Here's how to fix it: We recommend that you turn off the wifi on your phone when you are attempting to log into the app for the first time We also recommend that you enable Touch ID sign-in or Auto Sign-in on your Cove app. This will allow you to sign in to your app if you are connected to Wifi or using your cell data, without receiving the timeout error.…Read More -

If you have more than one location protected by Cove, you can access all of them from one Login. Cove App Reading Tamper
The App will only read tamper when the panel has been tampered with. (i.e. this is a common occurrence when this button is pressed) Wall Mount The tamper message on the app should go away once the panel is returned to its place on the wall. How To Get The Cove App
In order to use the Cove mobile app with your security system, you need to have selected our Cove Plus Package that includes the app feature. Please follow these steps to get the Cove mobile app. Navigate to either the App Store or Google Play store. If you are searching on your device, please type in "Cove Security" in your search bar to find the mobile app. Download the Cove mobile app on either your IOS or Android device. Complete the installation of your alarm system before you try to log into the app. Your username is your primary phone on the account & your temporary password is your zip code for your monitoring address. Once you have successfully installed your alarm system, log into the app and create a new password. If you want to update your username as well, you can do so by going into "Users" clicking on your name, and creating a new username. You will be required to fill out the rest of the app credential info to create a new username. Use the app to arm and disarm your system to have complete control over your Cove alarm system. We are in the development phase of implementing full home automation for Cove customers, so currently we cannot offer all the services displayed on the App Store or Google Play store.…Read More
