How to adjust the halo light brightness on your Cove keypad
Learn what the halo light is, how it works by default, and how to set it to a fixed brightness level you prefer.

What is the halo light?
The halo light is the soft ring of light on the back of your Cove security keypad. It glows gently around the device whether it's sitting on a table or mounted on the wall — giving your keypad a subtle, polished look.
How does it work by default?
By default, your halo light automatically adjusts to match the brightness of the room. This is called Adaptive Brightness.

If you'd prefer the halo light to always stay at a specific brightness — no matter how bright or dark the room is — you can turn off Adaptive Brightness and set it yourself.
How to set a fixed brightness level
- Open the Cove Connect app and go to Settings.
- iPhone - Tap the gear icon (⚙️) at the top right.
- Android - Tap the three lines (☰) on the left and select Settings.
- Scroll down and find the Adaptive Brightness toggle. Turn it off.
- A brightness slider will appear. Drag it left or right to set the brightness level you prefer.
Good to Know
In a bright room, the difference between low and high brightness may be hard to notice. The halo light really shines in darker rooms — that's where you'll see the most difference when adjusting the slider.
