Glass Break Detector Not Triggering

Troubleshooting Steps

If you feel a sensor is not properly triggering we recommend testing the sensor. Note that if the sensor is not learned into the system, the panel will not respond when you press the test button on the sensor.

  1. Perform a sensor test
  2. Replace the batteries (CR123A)
  3. Move the panel closer to the sensor

If the sensor is working properly you will see "your sensor has been triggered successfully." Keep in mind that testing only verifies that the sensor can communicate with the panel. 

Things to Know

The glass break detector is calibrated to only detect the sound of framed window glass breaking. A dropped plate or loose pane of glass should not cause the sensor to go off.

  • Jasmine, I would add that they shouldn't expect the alarm to go off if they break a dish or a piece of unframed glass, because the sensor is calibrated to only detect the sound of framed glass breaking.
