Pairing Your Eufy Outdoor Camera Using the Cove Connect App
This article is to help you pair your Eufy Outdoor Camera to the Cove Connect app. A Few Things to Know: You should fully charge your outdoor camera. Use the provided USB-C cable, this can take up to 6 hours for a complete charge. The camera requires a 2.4GHz network, so if you have a dual-band router (with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz options) please make sure your phone is connected to the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network before you begin. If you are unsure what network your router is broadcasting, we suggest contacting your Internet Service Provider. They can let you know how to get your router set to 2.4GHz. The cameras communicate using the Cove Connect app, for users on the Plus monitoring service plan. If you do not see an option to add cameras, please call our support team for assistance at 855.268.3669. If you have previously paired the Eufy cameras to the Eufy Security app, save any clips for those cameras you intend to keep and then remove the cameras from the Eufy app. Reset your cameras and chimes before pairing on the Cove Connect App Lastly, a few of the camera features available with the Eufy Security app (like scheduling and turning on/off the siren on the camera) are not yet available through the Cove Connect app. We plan to incorporate additional features as part of our future app updates. For now, if you would like to keep those specific functions, we recommend keeping your cameras on the Eufy app. The Pairing Process These instructions are the same whether you are setting up your camera for the first time or have already paired your camera to the Eufy Security app. Before you begin, make sure your camera is fully charged. Troubleshooting Your Eufy Outdoor Camera
Outdoor Camera Reports 'Failed to Connect' while Pairing While pairing the outdoor camera, if the camera reports that it fails to connect, please check the following: Verify the Wi-Fi name and password you’ve entered is correct. Verify that you can access that network from your phone and can access the internet from that network. Verify the network you have connected to is a 2.4GHz Network (the camera is incompatible to connect to a 5GHz network Wi-Fi). If you are unsure if you are connected to a 2.4GHz or 5GHz network, you can identify that with a computer and a quick internet search or reach out to your Router’s Customer Support for assistance. Take note of any specific special characters in your password. Some of the more common special characters such as “!,#,$” are accepted but lesser-used characters such as “*,^,}” may not work. We also recommend having a password longer than 8 alpha-numeric characters for your Wi-Fi password. Make sure your camera is fully charged before the pairing process Verify you are not on a VPN or an unsecured public network that is not password protected. Verify you have removed the camera from the Eufy Security app and that the camera has been reset before pairing. If the camera fails after resetting and the network configuration is set up properly, please reach out to our support team for further assistance.
