Before You Get Started:
Charge your outdoor camera with the provided USB-C cable. It takes roughly 6 hours for a complete charge.
Complete the pairing process for the outdoor camera before installation.
Depending on the surface where you will install your outdoor camera, you may need a power drill and a 6mm drill bit.
Selecting a Location
- Make sure your outdoor camera is within range of your home Wi-Fi router to ensure it will work where you are going to install the camera.
- You can test this before installing your camera by opening the Cove Connect App and viewing the live feed of the outdoor camera at your desired location before installing. Make sure it loads up quickly and there are no issues.
- The outdoor camera can be mounted on a wall. Select a location where it achieves the desired view.
- We recommend mounting the camera 7-10 feet (2-3m) above ground level.
- To maximize solar panel efficiency, select a location where the outdoor camera receives plenty of sunlight.
- The solar panel needs at least 3 hours of direct sunlight to maintain optimal battery life.
- Note: Battery efficiency can vary depending on camera settings.
Mounting the Outdoor Camera
The outdoor camera can be mounted both indoors and outdoors.
- Loosen the cover of the mount by turning it counterclockwise and disassemble the mount.
- Use the mounting template and drill holes using a 6mm drill bit, then insert the anchors into the holes.
- Firmly screw the base of the mount onto the wall. Reassemble the mount.
- Screw the outdoor camera onto the attached mount. Verify the solar panel is facing the sky, and position/angle the camera for the desired view.
- Check the live feed of the camera through the Cove Connect App. Make any adjustments to angles as necessary.
- If your camera’s battery gets low due to insufficient direct sunlight and needs to recharge.
