  • updated 2 wk ago

This article explains what you can do and adjust from the live feed page of the Cove Connect App.

Live Feed Page

The live feed page is where you'll access your camera feed. From here, you also have the option to listen in or broadcast your voice to the camera. You can have a 2-way voice call, take pictures, and manually record clips to save to your local device's storage.

Below is a description of what each button on the live feed display does:

  • Camera Name: Displays the Current Name of the Camera.
  • Play/Stop: Stops or resumes the live feed of the camera.
  • Mute Audio: Mutes or resumes the audio coming from the camera.
  • Image Quality: Update the image quality from Low to High or set to Auto based on the network connection strength.
  • Flip Image (Indoor Cameras Only): Allows the user to flip the image of the camera.
  • Bitrate: Indicates how much data is being uploaded. The higher the image quality, the higher the bitrate.
  • Pan/Tilt Camera (Indoor Cameras Only): Allows the user to pan or tilt the feed of the camera.
  • Microphone: Allows you to speak through your phone and your voice will broadcast onto the camera to initiate a 2-way conversation with anyone in front of the camera.
  • Screenshot: Takes a picture of the current live feed and saves it to your local device's storage.
  • Manual Record: Pressing the camcorder button will initiate a manual recording and save it to your device's local storage. To end the recording, press the camcorder button again.
  • Exit Feed: Exits out of the live feed of the camera.

Motion Detection Settings:

The motion Detection Settings allow you to alter how frequently and how much motion needs to occur for the camera to record. When the camera is initially paired, it has motion detection turned on and set to the default value of medium sensitivity.
Because each need for each camera can vary on use, there isn’t necessarily one recommended preset to capture all your needed recordings, rather below we will explain all the toggles and sliders available and what they would be used for.

Motion Detection Toggle

This will toggle if you want the camera to capture recordings of motion.  If you do not wish to have the camera capture any recordings, we recommend turning this feature off.

  1. To Enable/Disable Motion Detection for your Eufy Camera Please follow the steps below

  2. Open the Cove Connect App

  3. Navigate to the Cameras Page

    • On Android on the Home page click on 3 bars on the top left corner and select “Cameras” from the Menu

    • On iOS Click on the Cameras Option on the bottom of your screen

  4. Find the Name of the Camera you wish to Adjust and click on the “Gear” icon to the right of the name

  5. Navigate to “Motion Detection”

  6. Here you can Enable/Disable Motion Detection:

    • To Disable Motion Detection make sure the toggle is to the left

Notify on Motion Detect

This will send a push notification to your phone that the camera has recorded. When clicking on the notification, you will be brought to the live feed of the camera that detected the motion. For viewing the recordings, refer to the section “Accessing previously recorded footage.”

Motion Detection Sensitivity

A sensitivity slider for how much movement needs to happen on the frame to capture a recording. The lower the number, the less sensitive the camera will be.  Please note that if you find the camera tends to record more frequently and you find a lot of the recordings are capturing misfires like trees blowing in the wind, we recommend lowering the sensitivity.

  1. To adjust the Sensitivity level of your Eufy Camera Please follow the steps below

  2. Open the Cove Connect App

  3. Navigate to the Cameras Page

    • On Android on the Home page click on 3 bars on the top left corner and select “Cameras” from the Menu

    • On iOS Click on the Cameras Option at the bottom of your screen

  4. Find the Name of the Camera you wish to Adjust and click on the “Gear” icon to the right of the name

  5. Navigate to “Motion Detection”

  6. Adjust the slider from 1 to 7

    • 1 is the lowest sensitivity which means the camera is less likely to detect motion and trigger a recording

    • 7 is higher sensitivity which means the camera’s threshold to trigger a motion detection event is much more sensitive

      • Indoor Camera Camera has a Maximum Sensitivity setting of 5

      • Doorbell Camera has a Maximum Sensitivity setting of 5

  7. After adjusting the slider press the back button in the top left corner and then hit the “X” in the top left-hand corner to leave the camera settings

Motion Detection Area (and Privacy Zones)

This will populate a thumbnail of the cameras image and allow you to create boxes of detection regions you would like the camera to record motion area in and ignore areas of low activity or areas you do not wish to have frequent recordings (such as cars driving by on a busy road or people walking in and out of a hallway.) In addition, you can set Privacy areas (on Outdoor cameras) that will blackout certain sections of the camera's live feed and recorded footage (such as a neighbors window if the camera happens to include that region in its line of sight).

To Set the Detection Area or privacy area:

  1. Click on the (+) icon on the screen.
  2. Select Active for an activity zone or Privacy to set a privacy zone. Select OK.
  3. click on any corner to resize the box and click anywhere in the center of the red box to drag and relocate the location of the recording area
  4. Once the area has been set, click the floppy disk icon to save your motion area

Please note that you can only have 2 motion detection or 2 privacy areas set at a time.

Motion Detection Type

This allows you to determine what type of detection the camera should focus on. You can either have it filter out all other motion events except for Person detection, or you can keep it on All motion.  If you happen to live on a busy road and are getting an abundance of recordings of cars driving by, we’d recommend switching it from All motion to “People” detection.

  1. To adjust the Motion Detection Type of your Eufy Camera Please follow the steps below

  2. Open the Cove Connect App

  3. Navigate to the Cameras Page

    • On Android on the Home page click on 3 bars on the top left corner and select “Cameras” from the Menu

  6. Select “Motion Detection Type” Here you will see the following options:

    1. People Setting - AI Filter that searches for motion that only comes from Human Sized objects and movement profiles

    2. All Motion - The camera can be triggered by any type of movement within the field of view as long as it meets the motion sensitivity threshold

  7. After selecting your desired Motion Detection setting please tap “Continue”

  8. Then tap on the back arrow in the top left-hand corner then tap on the “X” in the top left-hand corner to leave the camera settings
