Keep your account secure with an extra layer of protection. Enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) means that even if someone has your password, they can’t access your account without a special code generated on your phone. It’s quick to set up and gives you peace of mind.

How to Turn On Multi-Factor Authentication

1. Log in to your Cove Customer Portal at portal.covesmart.com
2. Go to the Account tab
3. Under User Settings, check the box labeled "Enable Multi-Factor Authentication"
4. A pop-up will appear with a QR code
5. Open your preferred authenticator app—such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy
6. Scan the QR code using your app
7. Enter the verification code shown in the app into the prompt in your portal
8. That’s it! MFA is now enabled on your account.

Next time you log in, you’ll be prompted to enter a code from your authenticator app after you type in your email and password.

How to Turn Off Multi-Factor Authentication

1. Go to the Account tab in the portal
2. Under "User settings," uncheck the multi-factor authentication box.
3. A confirmation pop-up will appear—click “Disable Authentication”

Important: If you decide to re-enable MFA later, you’ll need to set it up again from scratch using a new QR code. Your old authenticator setup will no longer work.
