Door/Window Sensor Tampering

Most alarm equipment has a built-in tamper switch to deter unauthorized interference. When the panel reports a tamper trouble condition it usually means the mounting plate and the sensor case are loose or not properly seated. This occurs most frequently after changing sensor batteries.

Troubleshooting Sensor Tampering

  1. Make sure the sensor is securely seated on the mounting plate.
  2. If that doesn't seem to be the issue, remove and re-add the sensor.

  • Our door sensor keeps sending us messages that someone is tampering with it. The door is fixed and never opened. Not sure why it keeps saying its being tampered with.

Grace Manzo If the sensor is closed and secured to its install location, however, the panel is still reading "Tamper", I would recommend removing and re-adding the sensor just to the panel. If the sensor still reads tamper, please call our Support team at 855.268.3669
