Arming and Disarming Through the Cove Connect App

  • updated 3 mths ago

The Arming and disarming functionality is visible across all pages for easy access while navigating the application.

Arming “Stay”

  • Select this mode when people will be staying inside.  This will arm all sensors except motion sensors.

    • How To Arm “Stay” - Select the option of “Stay” or the Icon of the person inside the house. Arming Stay normally has an entry and exit Delay unless the user has selected the option of instant arming.

Arming “Away”

Select this mode when the house will be unoccupied.  This will arm all sensors including motion sensors.

  • How to Arm “Away” - Select the “Away” option in the app or the icon of the person in the foreground with the house behind. This also has an entry and exit delay unless instant arming is enabled.

Arming “Night”

  • Select this mode when people will be staying inside and sleeping. This will arm all sensors including Motion Sensors configured for Night Mode.

    • How to Arm in “Night” mode - Select the “Night” option on the app or the icon with the moon and stars. In night mode - there is no exit delay but there is an entry delay by default. (In case someone accidentally opens the door to let a pet outside before disarming the system.)

Instant Arming

  • Instant arming will allow you to remove entry delay from your Door Sensors when you Arm your System in Stay, Away, or Night Mode.

    • Removing Entry delay means that if your system is armed and a door with a sensor is opened, the alarm will go off immediately.

      • The icon for this option looks like a clock and is above the option for “Night”

      • If the Color is “Greyed Out” this means you have removed Entry Delay from your sensors when you arm your system.

      • If the icon is “Colored In” this means your sensors will have an Entry Delay when arming your system.

Silent arming

  • Silent Arming allows you to arm your system without the beeping tones occurring while the system is arming and counting down. This will also add an additional 60 seconds to the countdown timer.

    • The Icon looks like a Megaphone with a sound wave coming out.

      • If it’s grayed out, it means the Silent Arming is active.

      • This is applicable for only one arming cycle (meaning as soon as you disarm, you will need to toggle this feature back off again on your next arming request.)

Trouble Conditions

  • Trouble conditions are issues within your system.  They will appear on the Arming Page.  For more information see here.

  Force Arming

  • If you would like to arm the system but want to leave a door or window open while arming OR ignore a sensor with a trouble condition, the system will prompt that a sensor is protesting and will require you to force arm if you wish to proceed.

    • Doing so will bypass that sensor for one arming cycle.

    • While armed, that sensor can still act open and close without it triggering the alarm.
