How to Change the Battery in Your Glass Break Sensor
If you have received a Glass Break Sensor Low Battery notification, you will need to replace the battery promptly to ensure the device continues to function properly. How to Replace Battery Disarm your system before you begin this process Open the Glass Break Detector by turning the sensor counterclockwise. This will remove the sensor from the mounting plate. Unscrew the center screw on the inside of the sensor and lift up on the ridges along the edges to get inside the sensor. Pay close attention to the orientation of the (+) and (-) sides of the battery in the button Place the new AA batteries in the detector. To remount the sensor, align the raised marks on the outside edge of the sensor and mounting plate and rotate clockwise. Glass Break Sensor Tampering
The Glass Break Sensor has a built-in tamper switch to deter unauthorized interference. When the panel reports a tamper trouble condition it usually means the mounting plate and the sensor are loose or not properly seated. Troubleshooting Sensor Tampering Make sure the sensor is securely seated to the mounting plate. (It is recommended to remove and re-attach the sensor to the plate to ensure proper seating). It is important to IMMEDIATELY address any sensor trouble conditions when they occur. A low battery, loss of supervision, or abnormal sensor behavior can cause false alarms.
