How It Works - Smoke Detector

  • updated 1 yr ago

This piece of equipment is critical for protecting your home. Unlike traditional smoke detectors, our Smoke Detector alerts you and the monitoring station automatically in the event of a fire. If your alarm is disarmed, this sensor remains ready to diligently protect you and your loved ones.

Frequently Asked Questions About This Sensor

We recommend placing at least one detector near your bedrooms where people sleep and one per each level of your home. The Smoke detector is particularly important for those with limited mobility or other health concerns that may impede their ability to escape the home quickly and safely.

How does the smoke detection work for this sensor?

The Smoke Detector uses advanced algorithms and a sophisticated photo-electric optical sensor to improve the detection of smoke particles created by some synthetic materials when they burn.

This new technology and algorithm are designed to have your Smoke Detector trigger a Fire alarm more quickly when synthetic smoke is detected versus organic smoke associated with normal cooking events to reduce the likelihood of a false alarm, adding to safety and peace of mind.

Because this Smoke Detector measures the smoke particles in the air we recommend NOT installing the sensor near an air vent or areas within the home that experience drafts or air currents that contain particles which could result in a false alarm.
