Smoke Detector Tampering

  • updated 11 mths ago

The Smoke Detector has a built-in tamper switch to deter unauthorized interference. When the Alarm Panel reports a tamper trouble condition, it usually means the mounting plate and the sensor are loose or not properly seated. This occurs most frequently after changing sensor batteries.

Troubleshooting Sensor Tampering

  • Make sure the sensor is securely connected to the mounting plate. (It is recommended to remove and re-attach the sensor to the plate to ensure proper connection).

  • Verify that the button on the inside of the sensor is pressed in (this button should always be pressed down. When it is released, a temper condition will be reported.

If your sensor continues to report tampering and you have ensured proper sensor alignment, please reach out to our support for further assistance.
