Simple Panel Replacement
You are being sent a Panel Replacement, we ask that you please allow 5-10 business days for your new panel to arrive. New Panel Arrived DO NOT POWER ON THE PANEL Before your new panel can be powered on and connected to the cell tower, it needs to be registered. This means that we will be adding the Interactive ID, found on the top left corner of the back of your new panel, to your account. You will need to call our Support Team at 855.268.3669 and state that you are calling to complete a "Panel Swap". Powered on Panel Before Calling If you powered on your new panel before calling our support team, no worries. We will still be able to complete your panel swap, however, first, we will need you to power off your panel. Installing Sensors We do our best to simplify the panel swap process, however, there are times when we are unable to update the new panel with the old sensors. This means that you may be required to add your sensors back to the panel. We recommend, walking your panel around to each of the sensors as you are adding them back to your panel. Testing Sensors We also recommend that you test your sensors' connection to the Monitoring Station, especially after just having completed a panel swap. This will give you the peace of mind that your system is working as it should.…Read More -

Carefully unplug the AC power cable and the backup battery cable from their terminals. Once the panel is powered off completely, plug the backup battery cable back into the terminal followed by the power cord to its terminal.…Read More -
Preferred Locations for your Simple Panel
Your panel serves as the heart of your system and should be placed in a central location in your home. Your panel should be plugged into an outlet at all times; this outlet should NOT be a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI). These outlets are common in kitchens and bathrooms and have a reset button; be sure that the outlet is not controlled by a light switch either. Common Panel Installation Locations Counter-top Table-top Bookshelf Desk Wall (Professional installation recommended) Securing Panel Power If you have young children or worry about someone unplugging your panel, we recommend securing the plug to the outlet with the provided screw to avoid accidental loss of power. After the panel is plugged in you may notice a red X over the cellular bars on the panel display. It may take a few moments for the panel to establish a connection with the cell tower. Things to Avoid When choosing where to place your panel, it is important to avoid a few situations: Locations where the siren would be difficult to hear Near a window where an intruder might see it Within four feet of large metal appliances such as refrigerators, televisions, and washing machines Locations such as closets, garages, closed laundry rooms, bathrooms, and stairwells.…Read More -

3G Panel Sunset
Note: This issue was recognized, addressed, and resolved in early 2022. Do not unplug your old panel or discontinue using it until the process of switching to your new panel is complete. Please note that your current panel settings and 4-digit user codes will not transfer over to the new panel. You will need to enable the same settings and change your master code. If you have the app and more than one app user, any secondary users’ pins will not copy over. You will need to recreate the users’ pins in the app and grant them “panel access”. Instructions: On or before February 22nd, plug in your new panel. Your new panel will have a red X at the top left corner of the screen indicating that your panel is not currently communicating with cell towers. This is to be expected until the switch from your 3G panel to your new 4G panel is complete. Over the next few days, your new panel will automatically activate with all of your sensor information. Until the new panel activates, your old panel will still be active and you can arm and disarm it as usual. The switch-over process will be completed when the new panel no longer shows the red X. The absence of the red X indicates that your new panel is able to communicate with the cell towers. Once this process is complete and the red X is no longer showing, you will need to change the 4-digit master code on your new panel. The 4-digit master code is the code you use to arm and disarm your system. Your new 4G panel has a default master code of “3333”. Below are the instructions for how to change the master code: How To Change Master Code: Tap “Settings” (On the top, right corner of your panel) Enter the default master code “3333” Select “User Passcodes” Select “Reset” on the Master Passcode option Enter your new 4-digit passcode This is now the 4-digit passcode you will use to arm and disarm your system.…Read More -
Updating Your Panel Firmware
If you have recently received a notification from Cove that your firmware is out of date, you should also have received an SD card. Here are some brief instructions on how to update your Touch Screen Panel’s firmware, to ensure that your system is running smoothly. Disarm your system. Insert the provided SD card into the slot on the top right corner of the panel until it clicks and the screen turns yellow. Make sure the gold connectors face toward the front (screen side) of the panel. Do not unplug the panel or remove the SD card until the firmware update is complete. Make sure your panel is plugged into an outlet. On the screen, select, “Yes,” when asked, “Update Firmware?" Enter your master passcode. (If you never set one up, use 3333) Your firmware update will start automatically and should take 2-3 minutes. Wait for your panel to establish a connection. Once connected, you will hear, “Hi there, welcome to Cove.” Create your master passcode and confirm it. Hold both the home button and phone button for 5 seconds until you are taken to the home screen that says, “Hey, I’m ready to arm.” You may now remove the SD card from the panel. We recommend running a complete sensor signal test to verify everything is working. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns about this process.…Read More
