AC Power Loss
A/C Power Loss means that your panel is no longer receiving AC power. Cove has a built-in fail-safe with a backup battery that lasts up to 24 hours to ensure you are fully covered in the event of a power outage. The backup battery automatically recharges itself once the AC power has been restored. Causes Reasons for a loss of AC power could include but not limited to: Issues with the electrical outlet Issues with the transformer (plug) The power wire The terminal on the panel The electrical circuit breaker A power outage in your area Troubleshooting We recommend checking the following: Verify that the transformer (plug) is still properly secured to the outlet Verify that the outlet has power Verify that the outlet is not a GFCI (reset button outlet) or switch-controlled outlet Inspect the power wire for any damage Inspect power terminal on Cove touch panel for any damage Check your home's circuit breaker has not tripped and is on Verify that there is not a power outage in your area…Read More -
Panel Sound Not Working
This usually means that when sensors open and close, like a door/window sensor, there is no audible sound produced from the panel. Troubleshooting Instructions In the bottom right corner of the panel home screen, verify that your panel volume is not "0" If the panel volume is at least "1", go to "Settings" on the top right-hand corner of the screen. Enter your four-digit Master Code Select "System" Select "Sounds" Verify the Panel Volume, Chime Sound, or Voice sound are "ON" and not "OFF" Verify the individual sensor chime status. Settings> Enter Master Code> Sensors> Choose sensor type> Press "EDIT" next to the sensor that isn't sounding> Make sure Chime and/or Voice sound is "ON" If that doesn't work, remove the backplate from the Cove Touch panel. Carefully unplug the AC power cable and the backup battery cable from their terminals. Once the panel is powered off completely, plug the backup battery cable back into the terminal followed by the power cord to its terminal.…Read More -
Check System History
The history screen will show up to 200 of the most recent events including the time and date of occurrence. The 201st event will automatically erase the oldest event. Events include a sensor being opened, closed, tampered, or triggered, trouble alerts, panel tampers, emergency calls, sensor loss of supervision, alarm triggers, disarms and arms. Messages and Trouble Alerts
Understanding Panel Messages & Trouble Alerts Alarm Events occur whenever your system reports an alarm to the central monitoring station. A new message will appear in your inbox and indicate which sensor triggered the alarm. Emergency calls also appear in Messages. Trouble Alerts sound when the system detects a system trouble condition. A record appears in Messages with recommended actions to correct the problem. Trouble Alerts options include: Panel Low Battery (Allow 24 hours to recharge) Panel No Battery (Reconnect the battery) Panel Communication Failure (Call Tech Support) Sensor Low Battery (Replace the sensor battery) Sensor Loss of Supervision (Replace the sensor battery) Turning Off/On Audible Alerts and Trouble Conditions can be modified so you don't hear Audible Alerts from the panel. If turned off, you will still be notified of alerts and trouble conditions via the panel messages icon on the panel home screen. Trouble Conditions have an Audible Alert to notify you of the Trouble Condition. The Audible Alert for any Trouble Condition will sound once every 4 hours until the Trouble Condition is resolved or until you have turned off Audible Alerts for current Trouble Conditions.
