Important Update for Kami Camera Users

Overview
As of January 06, 2025, all Kami Cameras will no longer be compatible with the Cove Security App or Cove Connect App. To continue using your cameras, you will need to transition to the Kami Home App.

What You Need to Do:

  1. Remove Your Cameras from your Cove App
    Disconnect your Kami Cameras from the Cove Security App.

    • For the Cove Security App do the following:

      1. Open the Cove Security App.
        Launch the app on your mobile device.

      2. Access the Menu.
        Tap the three bars (☰) in the top-left corner of the screen to open the menu.

      3. Navigate to the Video Section.
        From the menu, select the option labeled Video.

      4. Find Your Kami Camera.
        Locate your Kami Camera in the list of devices.

      5. Edit and Delete the Camera.

        1. Press and hold your finger on the camera's name, then slide it to the left.

        2. Tap the Delete Icon to remove the camera from the app.

      6. Reset the Camera.

        1. Locate the small pinhole reset slot on your Kami Camera.

        2. Insert a paperclip or similar tool into the slot and press and hold until the camera audibly resets.

      7. This process will remove the camera from the Cove Security App and prepare it for setup with the Kami Home App.

    • For the Cove Connect App do the following:

      1. Open the Cove Connect App
        Launch the Cove Connect App on your mobile device.

      2. Go to the Cameras Page
        Navigate to the Cameras section in the app.  

      3. Access Camera Settings
        Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner of the camera you want to delete.

      4. Find the Delete Option
        Scroll down the settings menu until you see the option to Delete the camera and Confirm Deletion.

      5. Reset the Camera.

        1. Locate the small pinhole reset slot on your Kami Camera.

        2. Insert a paperclip or similar tool into the slot and press and hold until the camera audibly resets.

      6. This process will remove the camera from the Cove Security App and prepare it for setup with the Kami Home App.

  2. Pair Your Cameras with the Kami Home App
    Download the Kami Home App, set it up, and pair your cameras.

  3. Use a Micro SD Card for Local Storage
    Instead of subscribing to cloud services, we recommend using a Micro SD card. This allows your cameras to record and store motion-activated events without extra fees.

    • This will save you money and have full functionality with your cameras this way.

Note: The Kami Home App will advertise subscription services for cloud storage but it is not needed if you choose to install a Micro SD card in each of your Kami Cameras.
