How to Enable Alexa

The Alexa Skill is available to customers with Cove-Plus Monitoring packages.

To Activate this Feature

  1. Login to your Alexa App
  2. From the menu, select "Skills & Games"
  3. Search "Cove Security"
  4. When you find the Cove skill be sure to enable it by using your Cove app credentials to log in the skill

Using Alexa

When you are ready to use the Cove skill with Alexa, say:

  • "Alexa, arm Cove security away"
  • "Alexa, disarm Cove security with code XXXX" (Whatever your 4 digit code is to disarm the system).
  • "Alexa, arm Cove Security stay"

  • Where can I get a list of all valid commands?

    • Melisa Capri Hello Melissa, that info should be in the Alexa Skill itself. All the same, here are the commands.

      "Alexa ask Cove Security to arm to away mode "

      "Alexa ask Cove Security to arm to stay mode"
      "Alexa ask Cove Security for my alarm status"

    • Cove If you would like to disarm you will need your passcode. "Alexa, ask Cove Security to disarm my system with code *your 4 digit code*"

  • Can Alexa enable night mode?

    • Travis Zeeler It's the same as stay mode without the entry delay, meaning that as soon as a door is opened, the alarm will be set off.

    • James Ulery Night Mode will immediately arm your system (No countdown) and remove any entry delay that is set on your door sensors. This means that if someone triggers a door sensor, it will set off the alarm immediately with no delay. 

      Night mode can shorten the arming process for when you are going to sleep so that any triggered sensor will go straight to an alarm instead of a countdown. 

  • Non of these commands work for me.  Alexa tells me I have to log in to the cove app!

    • Travis Zeeler are you logged into the cove app? The Alexa feature is only available on the Cove Plus monitoring plan, which gives the required access to the app.

  • Alexa will not link to my account! I am entering my info correctly but it wont link.
