Cove Partnership with YI

Perhaps the best feature Yi offers is its robust software. They are an industry leader, so we have partnered with Yi Technology to provide exceptional DIY (Do It Yourself) camera options.

Download Yi Home (available on Android and IOS). Yi has even developed a desktop computer client, which allows your computer screen to act as a Real-Time Surveillance Monitor! Yi Home is loaded with features and their hardware brings enhanced safety and productivity.


We currently provide each customer with a free Indoor Yi 1080p Home Camera, this does require WIFI, the key features are:

  • Night vision
  • Motion detection
  • Baby crying detection
  • Two-way audio
  • Mobile and PC app
  • 7 day Yi Cloud Storage
  • Lens distortion correction
  • Customizable field of view for notifications alerts

The camera also allows you to use a microSD card to store footage, we recommend that it not exceed 32 GB of storage.



You can add additional cameras to your cart during your initial purchase. Please note cameras are not eligible to be included in our Economy plan balance, this means you will have to pay for additional cameras at checkout. You can also contact Support to order additional cameras.

Viewing Footage

A major reason we partnered with Yi is that they do not require a subscription to view footage on their app, which can be seen live anytime. Of course, you can subscribe to Yi and receive additional cloud storage. This will allow you to view recordings from previous days going back up to two months depending on your subscription.

      Kim Day Thanks for reaching out Kim. The YI camera's do not connect to the Cove app. We should have our own integrated cameras by the end of this calendar year. Assuming COVID-19 does not cause any delays for us.

      Cove Wow, your site is somewhat misleading about the camera. I was very surprised that it did not integrate, even the sticker that you put on the back of the camera packaging is misleading. At least you have a trial period, but this is definitely a strike against you and super shady for a security brand.

    • Cove is there a plan to have outdoor integrated cameras as well?  What about integrated door locks?

    • Darlene Malloy We are planning to have integrated outdoor cameras, yes. Integrated automatic door locks will also be available at some point in the future. 

  • How to return cameras?  It's an additional plan for $150 per year and not integrated with Cove Smart. Your information is misleading about cameras.

    YI Home is a bad app and it's frustrating to use two apps to arm the house.
